The New Normal: Preparing Capitalism for the 21st Century

Date: 11th June 2012
Venue: Wren Suite, St Paul's Cathedral
Time: 6.30pm (doors open at 6.00pm)

In a period where the norms of capitalism are being re-envisaged rapidly, it is important to formulate a clear view of what is necessitating this change and the challenges that need to be met. As we continue further into the 21st century, an understanding of the 'New Normal' that should inform decision-making in business and economic policy is vital to ensuring long-term stability for the socio-economic structures that we rely upon.

St Paul's Institute, in conjunction with LDN Connection and Gresham College, are hosting a seminar to contribute to the consideration of the new realities that face capitalism in a shrinking world and changing nation. What is the 'New Normal'? And how will it affect the world we live in?

Ken Costa (Chair) - Chairman of LDN Connection and Gresham Professor of Commerce

Revd Canon Edmund Newell - Sub-Dean and Canon of Christ Church, Oxford

Philip Coggan - Buttonwood columnist, The Economist

Lord Nat Wei
- House of Lords, Big Society

Paul Marshall - Chairman of Marshall-Wace LLP
