Clergy Learning Day: A Shared Vision for London

Monday 23rd May 2016, 10am - 2.30pm
Crypt of St Paul's Cathedral

This event is open only to clergy and their invited guests.

Our forthcoming clergy learning day will build upon our 'A Shared Vision for London' event held at St Paul's Cathedral on 19th April, following also the result of the London mayoral election. This learning day will bring together clergy and campaigners for an interactive programme that will explore some of the challenges facing communities in London, as well as the immediate actions that churches can take to help mitigate some of the key issues and bring together local communities around common concerns. We are particularly interested in ensuring that the concerns of your parishioners are heard through your participation.

The programme will involve discussion on the role of the Church in London today; showcase projects and initiatives that local churches can support or use as examples for their own action; and bring clergy together to prototype new ideas that could be taken forward. Given feedback we have received on previous clergy days, the invitation to attend is also open to one or two key people that directly assist parish work so that clergy can bring with them those who might be involved in any actions they may want to take in the future.

We are delighted to have the Rt Revd Adrian Newman, Bishop of Stepney, welcoming and leading discussion on the day, with representatives from the Church Credit Champions NetworkTearfund; Clean for Good; Housing Justice and Prisons Mission who will provide clergy with new avenues that can help overcome some of the pressing problems facing Londoners today.

The day is provided free of charge and will include a sandwich lunch and refreshments. Further information and a full agenda will be sent to those who register.
