I just want to say wow! Why can't I think of things like that?

This was a good critique on corporate philanthropyactually "strategic philanthropy" as coined in the '90s by corporate culture until near the end where he capitulates to the possibility of corporations doing good. The key to my response is his statement that corporations "respond" to consumers. Not true. They respond to the demands of shareholders and the imperative of profit which stocks the shelves with perfectly useless goods and services that play to a terrible hedonism that is herding us all to the edge of the cliff. Faced with catastrophe, we still sleep walk.
