What do the Pope and the Archbishop Say About the Economic Crisis?

What do the Pope and the Archbishop Say About the Economic Crisis?

Date: Wednesday 28th September
Time: 1.05pm
Venue: St Mary-le-Bow Church, Cheapside

The Revd Dr John Hughes, Dean of Jesus College, Cambridge, and lecturer in philosophy, ethics and doctrine, will give a critical analysis of the speeches and writings of the Pope and the Archbishop on the economic crisis of 2008 onwards.

Do they believe the economic crisis was also a moral crisis? How do the Roman Catholic and Anglican traditions on economic thought differ and in what ways are they similar? Could the crisis have been avoided had the Pope and Archbishop been on the boards of some of our banks?! What is the role of Christian teaching in the City marketplace?

This event is free and no registration is required to attend.
